How You Can Help

Our donors and volunteers make an enormous contribution to the quality and scope of our services. There are many ways to get involved and to help support our mission.

Donations

  • You can make a tax-deductible donation by personal check or charge card. Send your contribution to: Hope's Door, PO Box 203, Pleasantville, NY 10570 and you'll receive our newsletter and notices of agency programs and events.
  • Your company, school or organization can plan a fundraiser or a donation drive of goods such as toiletries, baby products, office and program supplies, or holiday gifts.
  • A gift of stock will reduce your income taxes and provide you with other tax advantages.
  • You can leave a legacy of hope for those wounded by domestic violence. A bequest can be a specific dollar amount or a fixed percentage of your estate.
  • Donations can be made in remembrance of a loved one, in honor of a survivor, as a holiday or birthday gift, or in tribute to someone who supports our mission. All gifts are acknowledged to the recipient or their family with a special letter.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Children's Services
Provide childcare at administrative office and/or at shelter, help children get ready for school, assist with homework, accompany children on outings or plan a special event.

    Fundraising
Join our Luncheon Committee or Gala Committee to help plan and implement these important events. We need your assistance with invitations, procuring auction items, soliciting journal ads, and program development.

    Administrative Services
Help keep our office running smoothly. We need help with answering the phones, filing, word processing, data entry and bulk mailings.

    Donations
Help coordinate and stock our incoming donations. Reliable transportation and the ability to do some lifting is required.

    Outreach
Assist in presenting programs to community groups and staffing information tables at street fairs and community events.

    Maintenance
If you can vacuum an office, mow a lawn, dust the shelves, shampoo a rug or the like, please let us know.

    Legal Services
Attorneys are needed on a pro-bono basis to help in the following areas: immigration matters, custody issues, support hearings, contested and uncontested divorce actions and innocent spouse waivers.

    Special Services
What is your area of expertise? Can you help with writing, editing, design, language translation, architectural, plumbing, or heating? Contact us to discuss how we can work together.

If you'd like to volunteer, please contact our Office Manager at (914) 747-0828 or email us for more information.
